Kicking for Cancer to support Clint Layton

You are invited to support a Davis County family’s father, husband, son, and friend, Clint Layton. In March 2009, Clint was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Clint and his family have had a huge impact in the community and we are requesting your help in their behalf. Anyone who has had children attend Viewmont High School, or played soccer at Viewmont, have come in contact with the Layton Family.

Kicking for Cancer, is hosting a 3 on 3 Mens and Womens soccer tournament and raffle open to anyone ages 15 and older who would like to participate. We will be giving away 3 Free Domestic Airline tickets donated by Hess Travel: 1 given at raffle, 1 to the Outstanding Womens player and 1 to the Outstanding Mens player.

A Viewmont High School Alumni soccer game will follow the 3 on 3 tournament. All proceeds and money will go to the Clint Layton family to aide in his fight against cancer. His treatment regimen is aggressive, long term and unfortunately, very costly. They need support for the medical bills while also raising two young girls ages 9 months and 4 years old.

We hope to make this a successful event and invite you to join us for a day of fun and to support a very worthwhile cause!

  1. Please let them know I am so sorry. I do not know them, but know all to well the pain and sadness that cancer can bring. It's crazy to hear he is suffereing with the same cancer my brother-in-law is. My brother-in-law started out with his same kind of Lukemia, and has now been faced with another form. It has been six long years of fighting, but worth every day. It's a hard road to walk, and I can not begin to tell you or them how much I wish the best for them. If they would like to talk to my sister for emotional support, questions or anything please let me know. My brother-in-law is in TX right now with my sister by his side going through the transplant process. So If my sister could be of any help or I, I would love to. I live in AZ right now, but please email me if you would like to get in touch with them.krystalskinner8@yahoo.com
    Good luck, and God bless

  2. Hey there, Clint! Hope this finds you well.
I wanted to let you know that it IS possible to live when you're given a 3% chance! I was there, not with ALL but with AML, Acute Myeloid Leukemia. I was diagnosed in Aug. 2001, had two relapses, no BMT, and was told I had a 3% chance after my last round of chemo in July of 2004. I've been in remission now for 5+years!!! I was at Huntsman. In fact, I was the 'un-official' first patient when their beautiful new hospital was done!
Anyway, I'd like you to know if you want to talk about anything, please contact me. I have faced about all you can face with leukemia, sans death. And I live in Ogden!
My thoughts are with you and your family as we know hard this is for you and your families.
Hang in there, laugh alot, & hug your girls!

  3. I will pray for you and your family. I hope things turn out well with the transplant. My sister died of Leukemia years ago. I was found not to be a match, and therefore was not able to help. I am glad Casey was, and hope the transplant is successful. You have a beautiful family.
